Neils Birthday at Goonawarra

Filed under: Reviews — Cary @ 4:43 pm

At 9 o’clock this morning this day didn’t look like it was going to happen, but this is Melbourne so give it a bit. By the time Neil, John & I teed off the day wasn’t too bad at all. A little chilly but dry & just a little breeze.

The course is in magnificent condition, the bit of rain we have had followed up by sunshine is perfect for fairways & greens. Neil & John haven’t been out to Goonawarra before & they were most impressed with the place, I must admit that I do enjoy playing here. Nice wide open fairways with well protected & true running greens. One thing to keep in mind here is that when it blows it blows. We got lucky today, as I mentioned, just a little breeze. The day turned a little sour on the last couple of holes when the sky’s opened up. The temperatue seemed to half, when it starts at 15 degrees it got a touch cool, hands turned blue & tempers got short ;) Even with the wet finish it was a good day & I hope Neil enjoyed his birthday.
