Neil, Trevor, Ian & myself played in the annual La Trobe University golf day out at Growling Frog. We finished the day 2 of the stick under in an ambrose comp. We were relegated to second place on a count back
Our back nine wasn’t so flash which cost us. The guys that won, it was their first win after many attempts & a great bunch of blokes, so we were happy for them………… sort of
Here we go. Birthday rounds of golf this year are at 13th Beach. We have booked a group for the 5th of December at 10:36. You have to pre pay at the course so we can’t book extra spots. Email me or leave a comment if you are intersted in playing.

We are heading out to Sandringham on Saturday & have a couple of spare spots. If you would like to join us, drop me an email or leave a comment here. We have to prepay for the round so let me know by Wednesday
I’ve booked in 2 groups for Yarrambat next Saturday. Tee time is 10:30. We have about 6 people already keen to play so if you haven’t let me know that you want to come get in quick
I’m looking to organize a hit of golf on the 11th of June for anyone that’s interested. I was thinking either Yarrambat or Growling Frog. Let me know if you are interested & which one you would prefer to play. Majority wins, unless the weather is crap then we call the whole thing off
Neil & I headed out to Strathallan golf course for a quick 9 after work. I had to duck out early otherwise we wouldn’t have made it. As it turns out we only just finished up before it got dark. The course is in great nick, the fairways & the greens are well looked after. If you are looking for a qucik 9 holes you can’t go past this place. Neil gave me a bit of a touch up this round. I think from Memory he had 4 pars & a birdie & flogged me by about 6 shots. Well done Neil, I’ll get you next time
Had my first hit out for the year with the Epping RSL on Sunday. We headed out to Kilmore, which like a lot of the country has coped a fair bit of rain over the last few weeks. The ground staff hadn’t had a chnace to mow the greens for a little bit so they were a little furrier than normal
Funny thing is, I had my best day with the putter for a long time, winning the least putts for the day with 29. It was hot day with little or no breeze & I was struggling by the 18th yet somehow managered to finish the day par, par. It was good to get back out again & it’s always nice to play with the RSL & Kilmore course was in pretty good condition.
We are heading out to the Peninsula again for our birthdays round of golf. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what I’m talking about, a couple of members of Golfinmelbourne have their birthdays in early December. Each year we like to head to a new course & have a good day out. This year we are heading to Flinders. I’ve booked in for 2 groups with carts for Monday the 6th of December. First group is off at 10 followed by the second at 10.08. We have 4 people confirmed at the moment so if you are interested let me know via a comment or an email.
Looking forward to this round, it looks like a great course
Ian Neil & myself all have next Monday (16th of August) off work & are planning on heading out to St Andrews Beach (website here). We are booked in for 3 but there is a spare spot for one person or you can book a group around the same time as ours. The tee time is 11:06 & the cost is $69 each, which includes the cost of a ride on cart.
Leave a comment or send me an email if you are interested in joining us.
Cheers
Cary
Just got back from a 3 week holiday in Thailand. Had a ball seeing the sights, shopping & spending the day at the swim up pool bar drinking Chang’s
In amongst all of this we found time for a round of golf. I would have liked to play more courses but at 200 bucks a pop each we left it one. The course we played was Loch Palm just out side of Phuket. You can check out their website here. A beautiful course with a heap of water holes on the front 9. The back 9 was closer to the mountain but still challenging. For your $200 you get a set of Taylor Made hire clubs, separate buggies & a caddie. My caddie didn’t like me to much, it might have had something to do with the red shirt I was wearing
Were Neils caddie would drive him down the fairway & let him drop his ball where he crossed into the water, my caddie made me play from the drop zone, a good 100-150 metres behind Neil
Neil’s caddie also helped him out on the greens, telling him where to putt the ball, mine just stood off to the side .
Raelene played her first 18 holes & we might have a new convert
All up it was a gorgeous course, but boy was it hot. We tee’d off at 8 in the morning & it was all ready sweltering. Even in carts we were dripping in sweat. A couple of ice cold towels at the drink stops that are set up at a lot of the tee’s came in handy.
Neil took some great photo’s, except for one see if you can pick which one
You can check them out here
